Voss, Norway

We just finished up a couple nights in a town called Voss. It's supposed to be the adventure capital of Norway. We traveled there by train on the Flam Railway, partially through a snow storm. It was quite scenic with lots of waterfalls. Yeah...Norway is 85% water and waterfalls. We've never seen so much water - ever.
Our second day we went white water rafting. Our guide Jose was stuck with 6 girls. He looked pretty overwhelmed when he saw that we were going to be his group. We think he definitely earned his paycheck for that trip. We had to take a swimming test before we could raft. Nicole didn't pass, but they still let her go. It wasn't her fault...she got swept away by the current and had to be rescued. Luckily she didn't fall out of the raft, but Shelley did. We thought we had made it through the rapid, but then Jose (our guide) began screaming 'backpaddle! backpaddle!' and then cussed a little bit. We hit a rock pretty hard and before we knew it Shelley and Julie were in the water being rescued. It was fun and we didn't die although we would have cracked our skulls open on each other if we weren't wearing helmets. While all the other rafts were having fun and cheering, we were just happy we stayed in the raft the majority of the time. Jose wasn't so lucky...he was a little bloody by the end.
Nicole made some friends in Voss. She went on a run and met a sheep family. She said that was her 'Wow' moment and even got up early this morning to go say goodbye and take photos of her new friends. I think she's gonna have a lot to talk to Lt. Summey about when she gets home. Does anyone know if the Tempo tract allows livestock??? Brody and Sunny might get a new friend soon.
Today we're on our way to Oslo, Norway. We drove across the largest plain in Europe where reindeer normally graze. Unfortunately they had moved east at this time of the year.
Oh yeah. Norway is ridiculously expensive. Nicole thought she bought a really cheap tank top and it ended up being about $45 US dollars. She was a little upset about that.
